Though Sydney was an easy child and taking care of her was a bliss but due to my work commitment I hardly had any time for my personal indulgence. During those years I only bake once a year and that is during Chinese New Year.
Now that Sydney is slightly older and I can afford to squeeze some time for myself, I decided to take up a hobby. Since my interest has always been baking, I thought it would be a good idea to take up cake decorating. I am glad I did, 'coz I am enjoying it so very much. Besides that, I also met many friends who share the same interest. Some of these friends have grown to be great sharing partners and they are Amy and Anne.
So far, I have completed Wilton course 1 and 2 and mid way into course 3. In course 3, we learnt to decorate the cakes with fondant. Here's a dummy cake that I made in one of my course 3 classes.
Though I have attempted with fondant before, but this is the first time that I am doing it correctly. Especially on the technique of how to cover the cake. The pointers given by the instructor would not have been something that I would have thought of. I am really glad that I sign up for this course.
