Beach Party Cupcakes

I have been snapping and snapping away since I bought my Sony camera in September 2007. Little did I realised that I have used up so much of its memory. Therefore, over the weekend I did some housekeeping for more memory space in preparation for the coming Chinese New Year reunion. I sure hate to be caught without a usable camera in moments that I needed it most.

During the course of housekeeping, I came across some pictures of cupcakes that I made for my friend, Marianne. She is a beach person and each time when there is a break she and her family would be off to the beach resort (envy...envy).......with her sunglasses, hats and swim suit (bikini??).
Here were the surprise birthday presents I made for her. Though can't be put on but edible....

These were butter cupcakes frosted with buttercream. The toppers were made of fondant/sugar paste and the sand was basically crushed cookies.

FeR : Thanks. This is just the normal cake box which I have added a manila cardboard with holes cut out to fit the cupcakes.

I love the beach sandals. And what a brilliant idea to use crushed cookies as sand.
