Fishing Boy

I love this cake.  It is colourful, full of life and reminds me that I need another holiday.  I am thinking of holiday all the time...ha..ha..ha...  I had such a jolly good time making this cake especially the fishes.

The most difficult part in making this cake is moulding the figurine.  The first figurine that I made has a hunch back because it was left to harden sitting without any support.  The second one, which is the one on this cake has a funny looking right hand.  I moulded the hand leaving it to dry for last minute fixing thinking that by doing so I will be able to fix it together with the fishing rod.  How wrong was I, little did I know that once the hand has harden it is almost impossible to keep it glued to the body.  Eventually I had to make a new hand and it didn't quite match the position of the body.
The fishes are individually moulded and I used dental floss a for fishing line.  At the end of the fishing line is a sword fish.  The sword fish is a special request from the birthday boy.
With the amount of fun I had in making this cake, you can rest assurance that I will be making more of such cakes.

Little Corner : Thanks...muak

Anonymous : Not as tasty as buttercream. But because the texture is like play dough, it is used more for making figurines.

Eddel29 : Thanks for dropping by. If I were a kid, I too will love this cake.
